Season of Creation 2024

The Season of Creation runs 1st September to 4th October every year. It is adopted ecumenically and internationally as a time to draw attention to the environment, and creation.

URC Mersey is committed to working towards becoming green, as well as helping our churches become as environmentally friendly as possible.

Join the URC Mersey Eco network

The network’s remit includes:

  • introducing regular topics in worship and teaching relating to caring for God’s creation and the environment, drawing on materials and resources which are available from a variety of organisations and other churches

  • encouraging and helping individual churches to gain ‘Eco-Church’ status through A Rocha: https://arocha.org.uk

  • helping with spreading key messages through newsletters, social media, press releases, events and promotional materials

  • sharing difficulties, successes and progress

  • encouraging churches to engage with other local church denominations, and their wider communities, on climate
    action.

Please contact Richard Pearce, the URC Mersey Green Apostle, for more information about the network or eco support for your church.
