Eco Church Update

There are now 12 churches in the Mersey Synod area registered for the Eco Church awards. Seven of the churches have achieved a Bronze award and one a Silver award.

Congratulations to all those involved in making this happen.  This is a big step along the road for the Mersey Synod to achieve an Eco Synod award, one of the key objectives in the Synod’s Environmental Policy which can be downloaded from the Synod website here:  https://www.urcmerseysynod.org.uk/eco-church

Eco Church is A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth. The Eco Synod Award is a development of Eco Church whereby a URC Synod can register its interest in and work towards an award. The two awards are designed to complement each other, encouraging both Synod-level and local church-level engagement with Eco Church. For more details visit: https://ecochurch.arocha.org.uk/
