Easter Activities Across URC Mersey Synod
Christ Church Haydock URC Shares the Love of Jesus with the Local Community
Every year, Christ Church Haydock URC works with four schools to spread the Easter message. Each child receives an Easter booklet, a pair of new pyjamas, an Easter egg, Easter card from the church and packet of sweets. It’s a team effort and helps share the love of Jesus with our local community.

Hope Journey – Cross Factor at Trinity with Palm Grove URC Oxton
Trinity with Palm Grove URC Oxton, a URC Methodist Church, held a Hope Journey – Cross Factor over three sessions. Members from the Church welcomed 125 Year 5 children from three local schools to the Church to learn about the Easter story. Members of the Church became characters in the story sharing their experiences of the first Easter from the excitement of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to his execution on a Cross. They encountered the risen Christ and the impact on the disciples. They also decorated a cross telling the Easter Story and enjoyed juice and biscuits.
In addition the ladies of the Church have been knitting crosses, which have been placed on the hedge around the Church for people passing by to collect. Each cross had a label attached which says: On Good Friday we remember the Cross. On Easter Day we celebrate Christ is Alive. On the reverse it says, Please take this Cross home with you. With Easter greetings from all at Trinity with Palm Grove Church.
