A Prayer for the Feast of Pentecost

Romans 2:8

through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Loving God we thank you that you sent your Holy Spirit to guide, lead and bring life to your church.

We pray that we may be attentive to the call of the Spirit and look to you for life and meaning.

As we journey through this world may we do so aware of your presence with us in your Spirit and may we point to the forgiveness and love that your Son demonstrated through his life death and resurrection.

May we recognise the global and catholic nature of your church, drawing on the richness of the diversity of your people and celebrating the people you are calling us to be.

We pray this in the name of Christ,

Amen.
