Christmas Across Mersey Synod: Week One
A round up of wonderful Christmas activities connecting our churches to their communities.
Allerton URC
Allerton URC’s Christmas Fayre, held on 2nd December, raised the magnificent sum of £4,305.07. Junior Worship also worked very hard on the day to make £178.75 on their stall for the benefit of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The 22nd Allerton Beavers held their Christmas Nativity on 4th December in the sanctuary. Following the performance there was a raffle, tombola and donkey rides for small children. The money raised went to the Whitechapel Centre.

Christ Church Port Sunlight
This year's Claire House Carol Concert took place at Christ Church, Port Sunlight on Tuesday 5th December with candlelit performances from Vale of Clwyd Singers. Linda McDermott hosted the event with HSBC as sponsors. It was the perfect start to the festive season with carols sung by the Vale of Clwyd Singers, seasonal readings by candlelight and £5,900 raised. Toll Bar with Prescot

West Kirby URC
West Kirby URC held a Friday Kids Advent Special on Friday 1st December. This was a fun-filled time of games, music, dancing and craft all about Advent. They also held an Acoustic Night for Advent on Sunday 3rd December. This was a stripped-back evening of candle-lit worship, word and prayer.
